From noon on Wednesday, June 14th, through lunchtime on Thursday, June 15th, Bishop Jonathan visited the middle-school campers at Thunderhead Episcopal Center. This session of campers is the largest of this summer season, and was very aptly run by the Rev. Kim Folts and the Rev. Lydia Simmons and their superb staff!
Wednesday afternoon was filled with arts and crafts and outdoor activities, followed by an outdoor dinner of brats, hot dogs, corn on the cob, and baked potatoes prepared by Chef Laura, and that was topped off by S'mores by the campfire. The evening activity consisted of different outdoor sporting events and ended with Compline.
Thursday morning began with French toast and bacon, worship, more games, and a program led by the Bishop and Mother Lydia about how we participate in God's ongoing story and how we can share that story with others.
The staff and the chaplains serving at Thunderhead Episcopal Center (TEC) are all doing a fantastic ministry, and we are grateful to them! We are also grateful to those who are sending their children to camp this summer, and giving them to opportunity to experience this blessed and special place. Please keep TEC in your prayers this summer, and thank you again to those of you who are so supportive of this ministry!
