Monday, May 29th -- Memorial Day -- was a stunningly beautiful and spectacular day. And it was on this day that many people traveled to Christ Episcopal Church, Red Shirt Table, for the one year memorial service for the Rev. Robert Two Bulls, Sr.
The Rev. Robert Two Bulls, Jr. was the celebrant and preacher at this service and was joined by his sister, the Rev. Twila Two Bulls, Deacon, who read the Gospel and who provided wonderful Lakota music. Also present were their brother and sister, Jamie and Lorri Ann, and many, many family members. The Rt. Rev. Dr. Craig Anderson, VIII Bishop of South Dakota, and the Rt. Rev. Dr. Jonathan Folts, current Bishop, were both invited to share remarks and memories following the sermon and the Rev. Michael Cunningham, a very good friend of the family from Lompoc, California, served as Master of Ceremonies. Following the service, the gathered company went to the gravesite where the headstone was blessed, military honors were given, and the Wiping Away of Tears ceremony was conducted.
Afterwards, everyone was invited to participate in a BBQ lunch which was followed by a give-away and some moving speeches. The wind started to kick up mightily, but several people moved to the tent poles to keep them steady and the tent upright!
May Fr. Robert's soul rest in peace, and rise in glory.
