This Ministry Weekend will begin at 5:30 PM (central) on Friday night and will not go later than 3:30 PM (central) Saturday afternoon.
An overview of how the mystical, ritual, and symbolic dimensions of the church's liturgy inform and empower individual ethical lives and communal work for justice, as well as how the latter, in turn, affects the community's celebration of liturgy. Liturgy and ethics, in other words, are distinct yet related, while both are essential to the practice of Christian faith. Subtopics will include distinguishing between individual moralism and corporate social-ethical engagement, liturgical practice and the virtue of humility, and the lectionary cycle and liturgical year as critical resource for moral and ethical formation.
