Ember Days are four separate sets of three days (Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday) that occur in the weeks after the first Sunday of Lent, Pentecost, Holy Cross Day, and the celebration of the feast of St. Lucy. An Embertide is the time around these days. Postulates and candidates for ordination are expected to contact the Bishop during these four times of the year. This Embertide follows the observance of the Feast of St. Lucy (Wednesday, December 13, 2017), and so the Ember Days for this week are Wednesday, December 20, Friday, December 22, and Saturday, December 23.
